For 20 years, Missy and Sandy Kaolin have mastered and combined their complementary skills into one collaborative effort. The results are signature designs at the forefront of modern clay. The Kaolin Pottery Collection offers alternatives to collectors of glass art -- ceramic art.
Many of these pieces originate on a potter's wheel and are further transformed by innovative handbuilding techniques. At their completion, even the trained eye has difficulty determining where one technique blends into the other.
The ceramic surfaces rely on unique palettes. Red hot reds, hues of the aurora borealis, and metallic sheens punctuate the forms. The soft white clay body portrays a simple elegance. Black adds an element of drama.
This unusual style provides an unlimited menu of ceramic fare: inviting nudes, sensual vases, animal depictions, floral compositions and many items that make wonderful gifts. We offer miniature versions and extra large floor pieces for many of our designs.
The Kaolin Pottery Collection also includes customized work ranging from animal sculptures of your pets to centerpieces commemorating a special event.
